In the summer of 2025, I traveled to this breathtaking island off the coast of Tanzania in East Africa—and it completely revived my passion for international travel. From the people I met to the moments I captured, this trip changed my life in ways I’ll never forget.
I began my journey in Stonetown, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its winding alleys, carved wooden doors, and rich Swahili history. I spent my first full day exploring Prison Island, wandering through historic landmarks on a Stonetown walking tour, and immersing myself in the scents and flavors of a traditional spice farm. I met so many incredible people during my stay, including a talented local photographer, @swiz_brandzanzibar, who documented my trip with stunning photos and videos that I will cherish forever.
After Stone Town, I made my way to the serene coastal village of Fukuchani, where I checked into Moyo Mzuri Villa Resort, a boutique beachfront paradise surrounded by tropical gardens. Over the next several days, I enjoyed a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. I spent a full day at Kendwa Beach—jet skiing, kayaking, and engaging in a cultural interaction with the Maasai people. I also went horseback riding in Mangapwani with @zanzibarhorsesafaris, an experience that felt straight out of a dream, and ended another day with a breathtaking sunset dhow cruise aboard the @africanqueenzanzibar.
My journey didn’t stop there. I took a short one-hour Flightlink flight to Arusha, where I checked into the Gran Melia hotel for a quick but unforgettable safari extension. I visited @servalwildlife, an interactive safari park, and spent half a day exploring Arusha National Park—an experience that allowed me to truly appreciate Tanzania’s wildlife up close before heading back home.
