The warm tropical breeze, colorful streets, and Caribbean hospitality were exactly the reset I needed after months of crisp U.S. spring weather — and the best part? It was just a quick four-hour flight away.
I based my stay in Condado, San Juan, at the Hilton Garden Inn, and it ended up being the perfect home base for my trip. My balcony room overlooked the serene Condado Lagoon, and every evening I found myself sitting outside, soaking up sunset views that reminded me just how lucky I am to explore places like this. The hotel’s walkability, lagoon access, and ocean breeze set the tone for an unforgettable getaway.
On my first full day, I headed to Old San Juan for a photo walking tour I booked through Airbnb Experiences. Wandering the cobblestone streets with a photographer was the ultimate way to capture the pastel buildings, historic fort walls, and vibrant blue doors that make this district so iconic. The next day, I joined a cultural sightseeing tour that took me through the Capitol Building, the Afro-Puerto Rican town of Loíza, and the colorful Santurce art district — each stop offering a deeper look into the island’s rich history and creative pulse.
No trip to Puerto Rico is complete without a rainforest adventure, so on day three I explored El Yunque. From lush greenery to refreshing natural pools, the rainforest was a dream — and yes, I even squeezed in a waterfall photoshoot (highly recommend!). On my final morning, I treated myself to brunch at Arya Rooftop at OLV Fifty Five before spending the afternoon wandering through the lively T-Mobile District, a modern entertainment area filled with food, games, and music.
